Prior to her formal artistic debut, Billie cultivated an extensive career that consistently treated style and design as a form of rigorous self-expression—from launching a successful series of maternity stores to becoming a sought-after fitness instructor in Georgetown, to her interior designer business in Los Angeles. In addition to working with acrylics, watercolor, and ink, Billie incorporates the "scraps" of life” using magazine clippings, newsprint, and hand-selected fabrics, placing each element like a choreographer directs a dance. Billie works to transform everyday materials into sophisticated, energetic narratives, and as if by alchemy, her signature style emerges.
“I proudly call myself a pandemic pupil" says Billie, having formally started her art journey on Zoom at the age of 74. This late-career emergence is not a new beginning, but a powerful redirection of decades of aesthetic passion.
